For vehicles with manual transmissions, the pinion shaft of the rear differential does not have sufficient strength, and therefore, it may break when excessive load is repeatedly put on it. If this occurs, abnormal noises may be heard or the vehicle may stall, and in the worst case, the wheels might lock up.
