For vehicles with 1KD-FTV or 2KD-FTV engines, an unsuitable material is used for the fuel hoses connected to the fuel cooler, and therefore, if a snow melting agent is deposited on them, an electric corrosion may occur and cause rust. If this problem is left unattended, the rust may advance, and in the worst case, a fuel leak could develop.

Correction: 
The fuel hoses should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units. Also, the hose connecting parts should be checked, and if they have rust on them, the fuel cooler should be replaced with a new one.
