'Service Campaign'

Note: Toyota Japan has recognised this issue and addressed it as a "Service Campaign."  The issues covered under the category of Service Campaign are not required to report to MLIT, hence they are not in the ministry's recall database. Problem: There is a glitch in the computer program that controls the valve timing, and this glitch occurs when the vehicle stops while the hybrid system is in use.  If the glitch occurs, it may take more than one try for the engine to kick in after the motor started, in which case the warning light will illuminate.  With this type of incident recurring, the inverter device for the starter can be damaged by overload, which could prevent the vehicle from running of the engine.
