On certain vehicles, there are metal chips left on the crankshaft threads where the pulley bolt goes due to the inappropriate management of the crankshaft manufacturing process, and so the torque of the pulley is not be sufficient. If left unfixed, the pulley bolt can become loose and cause abnormal noise, and in the worst case, the engine auxiliary belt could come off the crank pulley, and this may result in the illumination of the charge warning light and in heavier steering.
