The lock assembly, spring, catch and weatherstrip should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units. Also, to accommodate the adjusted force of the spring, the reinforcement plate should be additionally fitted on the panel where the lock is installed.

Correction: 
The lock on the emergency exit door at the back of the vehicle may not fully engage when the door is slowly closed, because the force of the spring that pushes back the lock from the catch is inadequate, and also because the resilience force of the weatherstrip is not adequate. If left unfixed, in the worst case, vibration during driving etc. can cause the lock to disengage, in which case the door could open.
