The rear stabilizer has an inappropriate shape, and therefore it may move horizontally if the vehicle is driven in a way that causes the vehicle body to twist while the stabilizer is wet. If this occurs, the stabilizer may interfere with the union bolt for the rear brake caliper and cause it to become loose, which could result in brake fluid leakage, thus reducing the braking efficiency.
Case Number:
RJ-1342-1
Make/model:
Issued:
Mon, 2005-02-14
Component:
rear stabilizer
Affected:
63 214
Correction:
The union bolt should be checked for tightness and the vehicle should be checked for brake fluid leakage, and if either check fails, the bolt should be replaced with a new one. Also, the stopper should be installed for the rear stabilizer.
