The way the fuel tank is secured on the vehicle body is not appropriate, and therefore localized stress occurs on the upper section (as shown shaded in the diagram). That section may crack when the tank repeats expansion and contraction due to heat. If this problem is left unattended, the cracks may progress, and in the worst case, they could penetrate through the tank wall, which could cause a fuel spill when the tank is full.

Correction: 
The washers should be installed between the securing band and the vehicle body. Also, the cracked section should be reinforced with resin, and the adhesive sheet should be placed over the section.
