Depending on the way in which the clamp is fastened, the following measures should be taken. (1) If the clamp is secured with bolt, the bolt should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit that includes the spring washer, and adhesive should be applied on the bolt threads. (2) If the clamp is secured with nut, the nut with flange should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit that does not have flange, adhesive should be applied on the tap-end stud threads, and the nut should be tightened with the additional spring washer and the tap-end stud. In addition to (1) and (2), the condition of the rubber parts should be checked, and the clamp with deteriorated rubber part should be replaced with a new one. Also, the warning sticker about the maintenance points should be placed on the upper side of the engine. Incidentally, if there is not a rubber cover on the starter motor terminal to prevent a short circuit, the rubber cover should be installed.
