The lower arm ball joints should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units. For the upper arms, the ball joints or the upper arm assemblies should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units. Incidentally, it will take time to supply all the factory approved replacement units, and therefore as a temporary measure, the ball joints should be inspected and if they rattle or the dust boots are damaged, the replacement should be carried out, and otherwise it should be done at a later date.

Correction:
For light trucks with independent front wheel suspension, the sealing structure of the upper arm and lower arm ball joints is not appropriate, and therefore muddy water etc. can enter into the ball joints, in which case the resin bearings may wear and rattle. If this problem is left unattended, the rattle can increase, and in the worst case the ball joints could come off the suspension arms.
