The upper arm assemblies should be replaced with new ones. Incidentally, it will take time to supply all the necessary parts, and therefore as a temporary measure, the upper arm ball joints should be inspected and if they rattle or the dust boots are damaged, the ball joints should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units, and otherwise they should be replaced at a later date.

Correction:
On certain light trucks with independent front wheel suspension, mud water etc. can enter into the upper arm ball joints because of some service parts wrongly installed at the time of maintenance, induced by an inappropriate way of supplying service parts. In such a case, the resin bearings may wear and rattle. If this problem is left unattended, the rattle can increase, and in the worst case the ball joints could come off the suspension arms.
