RJ-1376-2

The ball studs do not have sufficient strength, and their tapered sections may crack from frequent dry steering. If this problem is left unattended, in the worst case, the tapered sections could break, making steering impossible.

RJ-1376-1

The threaded sections of the tie rods may bend or distort from up down movements of suspension, due to insufficient tightening of the tie rod end clamps, and this may cause the threaded sections to wear resulting in rattling. If the vehicle continues to be driven in such a condition, in the worst case, the tie rod ends may come out or break, making steering impossible.

RJ-1328-0

The strength margin of the front hubs is not sufficient on unanticipated conditions such as an inappropriate maintenance (excessive tightening of the hub bolts etc.) or overload, and therefore, the base of the front hubs flanges may crack from repeated driving on a curvy road etc. (This recall was submitted when it was found out that the past recall (case number RJ-1056-0, submitted on 24th March 2004) should have covered more models, after reexamining the strength of the front hubs by a new strength test method.)

RJ-1268-0

There is a glitch in the computer program in the ECU, which controls the gear change of the mechanical type automatic transmission. When the driver stops the vehicle without pressing the clutch pedal after driving in the 'D' range, the clutch is disengaged automatically, so it may occur that the vehicle starts to creep if it is stopped on a down hill without the brake applied. The ECU could mistakenly recognise such a condition as a normal driving mode, in which case it will engage the clutch, allowing the vehicle to take off.

RJ-1290-0

The suspension arms should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units and the knuckle shafts should be replaced with new ones. Incidentally, it will take time to supply all the necessary parts, and therefore as a temporary measure, the subject parts should inspected, and the ones with abnormality should be replaced straightaway and the others should be replaced at a later date.

RJ-1241-0

The serial/lot number on the fuel pump should be checked, and if it is the one to be recalled, the fuel pump should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit whose material and shape have been changed. Also, for vehicles with 8DC11 type engine, the way the fuel pump is attached to the engine should be checked, and if the factory approved replacement has not been carried out, the brackets should be additionally installed.

RJ-1239-0

The engine control wires should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units that include the wire protection tubes (roll tubes). Incidentally, for the wires connected to the fuel injection pump, the sheath should be inspected and the following measures should be taken depending on the conditions. (1) If any of the wire cores is exposed from damage, the fuel pump assembly should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit.

RJ-1236-0

The front hub bearings should be inspected. They should be refilled with the newly specified amount of grease, and the locknuts should be tightened to the specified torque. The damaged bearings should be replaced with new ones.
