For the coil of the solenoid valve that controls hydraulic pressure inside the automatic transmission, on certain vehicles, it may become disfigured due to improper method of tensioning, and consequently, it may become disconnected as a result of repeated stress created by heat expansion and contraction that is caused by temperature variation of the automatic transmission.

For the rear drum brakes, the link plates, which bring the brake shoes back to the place when the brake is released, do not have sufficient strength, and therefore they may crack from unanticipated load if the driver repeatedly stops the vehicle by using the parking brake only. If the vehicle continues to be driven with the cracked link plate, the plate may break and a broken piece could be caught between the brake shoe and drum. If this occurs, in the worst case, the rear wheel would lock up, which could adversely affect the stability of the vehicle.

For the front hub bearings of 4WD vehicles, the structure of the knuckles where the bearings are force fitted is improper, and therefore, muddy water can remain there and cause the oil seal to wear and lose its effectiveness. In such a case, the muddy water may enter into the bearing, which can force the grease out of the bearings leading to abnormal noise. If this problem is left unattended, in the worst case, the bearings could break causing the vehicle to stall.

RJ-1295-2

For the power trains of 4WD vehicles, the gear ratio of the front differential is not properly set, and therefore, while driving in 4WD mode, twisted torque may occur on the power train in proportion to the difference between the numbers of front and rear tyre revolutions depending on the wear of the rear tyres and the load conditions. With such torque, even as the mode is manually switched from 4WD to 2WD, the driving may remain unchanged.

There is a glitch in the computer program that controls an automatic particulate matter (PM) removal function of the diesel particulate filter (DPF). Because of the glitch, the removal of PM inside the DPF is not properly done, and the automatic PM removal function may be activated even when there is excessive amount of PM. If this occurs, the temperature in the DPF may rise abnormally, which can damage the exhaust temperature sensor, leading to an illumination of the engine warning light. At worst, the DPF could be damaged, causing the PM emissions to exceed the standard.

For freezer vans, the electrical wires can interfere with the air conditioner pipes due to improper wiring, and they may get damaged causing a short circuit, which in the worst case could result in a fire.

On certain vehicles, the diffuser for the passenger airbag may come off the inflator from the welded joint when the airbag is activated, because it is not properly welded. If this happens, the diffuser fails to discharge the gas so the airbag will not be deployed, and the passenger could be seriously injured in a frontal collision.

For vehicles with automatic transmission, the dynamic damper to reduce vibration of the exhaust pipe can be damaged due to insufficient strength. If the damaged dynamic damper is left unfixed, the vibration of the exhaust pipe increases and it can cause the pipe to break, which may interfere with the brake pipe. In such a case, at worst, the brake pipe could be damaged resulting in reduced brake efficiency.

RJ-0585-0

On certain rear wheel drive vehicles with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), the heat shield for the brake pipe is not installed (on the left front side member). If left unfixed, the temperature of the brake fluid can rise, in which case it becomes more likely to cause vapor lock, and in the worst case, this could result in reduced brake efficiency.

RJ-0483-0

On certain 2WD diesel vehicles, the front exhaust pipe bracket does not have sufficient strength, also on certain vehicles with automatic transmission, the muffler bracket does not have sufficient strength. If left unfixed, vibration from engine etc. can cause the bracket(s) to break, and in the worst case, the exhaust pipe could break resulting in exhaust gas leakage.
